Ripping movies without CPU overuse?

Does anyone know how to make a rip without the software are using the cpu at 100% ?
Any kind of software that allows one to use only 50% or 60%, so that the cpu or the board dont toast ?
i like to make some rips, but at almost 36?C outside and 60?C inside my computer, during 1 or 2 hours ripping
its just #%$

I got an p4 2ghz cpu and 1 gb ram.

i made some rips in the past so its not bad. the problem is there is no soft (at least that i know it)
wich allow one to control the use of cpu. all the soft and all the codecs arrowd assume that we wonna make
a rip as if is a question of life and death.
pure, im not doing anything except use the mule and the browser, and already have cpu 53?C/47?C board
imagine using 100% ininterrupt cpu for 2 hour. this $%# melt down

Hmm i don;t now of any software that can do that.
How much is it gonna go up? If i start up the comp it is about 39degrees and after one minute without doing much it's at ~50degrees and it goed up to a maximum of ~60degrees so that ain;t a problem. At least not for me.

I can rip while watching something (dragged to the telly) while the wife is surfing. and so far the pc hasn't had a meltdown, so...

I have 2.4gHz 512 Ram and can download/rip with about 80%, no probs while browsing either. Dont worry about PC usage while rippng unless you are also editing in other progs.

isnt it just good to let the pc and cpu do its work while you dont use other program or the pc... isnt there a chance to fuck up the rip when the cpu usage is 100%...
