Is there a way to copy two SRT files into one SRT file and having the timeline correct.

I have Der ?ntergang Extended with english subtitles, but the movie has MP3 stereo sound.
I also have an extended version without subtitles but with AC3 5.1 sound.
Unfortunately both versions consist of 2x700MB files and ofcourse one breaks off at another time so I can't use the subs.

Complicated? Watch my anus, now that's a complicated piece of organic machinery

Hehe... why don't you split the movie in half using virtual dub. Then the sub timelines would be correct :)

Awful solution... but the fastest ;)

Why would he split? That0's like having a 2cd :burg:

I know I was joining jap subs for some crapprs before, but never found an easy wa of doing it. Id look at when the subs 2 beging, then mathematically AAAARRH :stupid: :stupid:

I'm trying that now, I want to split the movie exactly the way it was split as the other release (same time line)

so one piece will be like 650MB and the other 750MB, but that doesn't matter.

On my standalone there's a 2 second freeze going from one file to another file.

the movie is gonna be a sucky long drag anyway.

aegisub has a SHIFT TIMELINES function

load the movie & the second srt, scroll through the film till the subs are supposed to appear (second half of the movie) & shift the timelines, you can do it either by frames or time

oops, I forgot: once the second srt is ok, save it, open with notepad, copy the content, open first srt, paste ,save, tataa

I just have to change all the numbers since the second srt started at line 1 and it has to be line 780

you sure?? normally the times of srt 2 will be way off, coz they (normally) start at 00.00.00 (beginning of avi 2) while they really should be something like 01.00.00 or something (middle of the actual film time

Well it worked. but the lines go from 1-778 on the first srt and the second one go from 1-600

so if I add them the lines have the wrong number. It's ok, I'm gonna do it by hand :)

the time lines are good now

Thanks!!! now I'm off to do work in the house
