I'd suggest using the bitrate, it's much safer (setting by size may calculate wrong bitrate sometimes...)

Elguaxo, any results for a preset between v3hr and v3 ?
edit: I meant a replacement for V3HR or sumthin...
Seems like I'll need something like that for Hellbound, dang! Maybe J2CD 1/1/0 ?! Or would that be too much, hmmm I need to test shit too

An idea just hit me, if I would put heini, 1/1/0 but with b-vop sensitivity + let's say 2, perhaps.... hmmm

I'll try running Hellraiser Hellbound with heini-mr 1/1/0 and b-vop +1 and hopefully that will fill the hole!!!

Started encoding Evil Dead II on LUX-90 today. Should be finished in a couple of days.
Did anything happen on the new LUX-85 to solve undersizing?

LOL read my last few posts -> aka nothing
I do have an idea with heini-mr b-vop settings 1/1/0 and then setting +1 or +2 to b-vop, erm sensitivity if I recall correctly.
I think that should have a good picture and be a good alternative for 85.
Didn't have a chance to test properly yet

I just got an undersize with LUX-90 on Evil Dead 2. There's 2 days of encoding wasted.
LUX-95 up next.

Re: avs2xvid.bat with Lux presets
Lux Delux wrote: <a href="http://www.bad-good.org/avs2qxvid.bat.rar"> DOWNLOAD</a> Just extract the folder somewhere, you don't need install anything, just avisynth 2.5.7 if you don't already have it http://downloads.sourceforge.net/avisyn ... g_mirror=0----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The steps should be simple, first you run a comptest and then select one of the presets based on the test! How do I make the comptest Lux?!!?! 1) you make an .avs for your movie, with the filtering etc. you want. So it's the usual stuff here. 2) create a simple text file in the same folder. You name it depending on your .avs name so if your .avs is called the text file will be 3) inside the .txt file write where size is the size of your video, like 1162MB for example. 4) Drag the .avs file onto avs2qxvid_25h.bat that's it! Your comptest should start running! tip: run the comptest in a different folder so you have the log file with the result later on ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here's what preset to choose depending on the comptest percent. If you get an oversize file choose the next higher preset, and if undersize choose the lower one. Though if you don't get much over/under sizing (under 100mb), perhaps it's better to just slightly decrease/increase resolution, sharpening if you use it etc. Anyways here they are... "<"49 - LUX-40 50-59 - LUX-50 60-69 - LUX-55 70-79 - LUX-60 80-86 - LUX-70 87-100 - LUX-80 101-109 - LUX-85 110-130 - LUX-90 131-145- LUX-95 146-160 - LUX-97 160">" - LUX-99 if you get undersizing with LUX-95 then feel free to ue LUX-99 now in the yourmovie.enc.txt you write the preset name and the video size EXAMPLE and just like the comptest, simply drag it onto the .bat and you have an encode running! !Or you can enter and have it run the comptest and choose the preset for you! Thanks to elguaxo. still testing, especially the ones under 90 and over 85, I'll update the percent ranges more in detail when I have some results.
Just started trying to use avs2qxvid.bat as suggested in the first page.. But I have some noob questions...
1. Where can I see the LUX presets table?
2. What if I want to use a different matrix? Or different VHQ and MP values?
3. GordianKnot asks for the sound file. Where do I include it in this method? I don't want to mux, until after the whole encoding...
Just made my first comptest and got a lot of files in result this one for eg
DirtyDancing.ct (playable v?deo) Is this the final encode look?

1: \bin\xvid_presets_25f.csv
2: Why? If you have suggestions let us know!
3: Use GKnot as your 'bitrate calculator' to know the exact videobitrate for a given source/size and then use that value to encode with avs2qxvid and mux the audio at the end.

No.

Maybe I'll try it in "Dirty Dancing" (yes I'm ripping that crap!! Maybe I'll start a Patrick Sawyze collection )
In the table I see this:
Code: LUX-99,"2","4","3",".",".","2","162","0","heini_lr_6o9.xcm",".","2","3","2","4","2","4",".",".","0",".","Y","Y",".","."
But I read somewhere (FH, I think) that MSP and VHQ should allways be set to max 6;4. Am I wrong?
That is why I asked where I would change to other matrix or these settings If needed... It just seemed almost too easy having all that (shitty) work already taked care of.
As usual, thx guaxo! you're the man!

Lower values keep more details, specially grain, but the compressibility is a bit lower. Try the preset as it is, and change it only after seeing the final encode. I think in the last uploaded he should open 25h since the avs2qxvid exe file is h I think
@Visceral, what was the comptest result for Evil Dead?
PS. I have an encode running with the new heini preset which should hopefully fill the hole between 85 and 90

Well, I did an encode with the new preset, 113 was the comptest and it didn't undersize, quants are
Code: I-VOPs: 2131 ( 1.550 %) P-VOPs: 69052 ( 50.216 %) ############# B-VOPs: 66326 ( 48.234 %) ############ S-VOPs: 0 ( 0.000 %) N-VOPs: 1 ( 0.001 %)

although this is with +1 on b-vops, I think it would be better with just +1.

Modified it a bit so if anyone wants to try it

I guess it should be used somewhere between 105-120/130.

Well, tried it for the first time... Very easy and confortable!! Loved the whole process, But I'm not sure about the results. Came out a bit blurry and washed out..
