I'd suggest using the bitrate, it's much safer (setting by size may calculate wrong bitrate sometimes...)

I do have an idea with heini-mr b-vop settings 1/1/0 and then setting +1 or +2 to b-vop, erm sensitivity if I recall correctly. I think that should have a good picture and be a good alternative for 85. Didn't have a chance to test properly yet

"<"49 - LUX-40 50-59 - LUX-50 60-69 - LUX-55 70-79 - LUX-60 80-86 - LUX-70 87-100 - LUX-80 101-109 - LUX-85 110-130 - LUX-90 131-145- LUX-95 146-160 - LUX-97 160">" - LUX-99 if you get undersizing with LUX-95 then feel free to ue LUX-99  now in the yourmovie.enc.txt you write the preset name and the video size EXAMPLE Code: LUX-90 1124MB and just like the comptest, simply drag it onto the .bat and you have an encode running! !Or you can enter Code: LUX-CT yoursizeMB still testing, especially the ones under 90 and over 85, I'll update the percent ranges more in detail when I have some results. Just started trying to use avs2qxvid.bat as suggested in the first page.. But I have some noob questions... 1. Where can I see the LUX presets table? 2. What if I want to use a different matrix? Or different VHQ and MP values? 3. GordianKnot asks for the sound file. Where do I include it in this method? I don't want to mux, until after the whole encoding... Just made my first comptest and got a lot of files in result this one for eg DirtyDancing.ct (playable v?deo) Is this the final encode look?

But I read somewhere (FH, I think) that MSP and VHQ should allways be set to max 6;4. Am I wrong? That is why I asked where I would change to other matrix or these settings If needed... Lower values keep more details, specially grain, but the compressibility is a bit lower. Try the preset as it is, and change it only after seeing the final encode. @Visceral, what was the comptest result for Evil Dead? PS. I have an encode running with the new heini preset which should hopefully fill the hole between 85 and 90
