Eighties pop stars Debbie Gibson and Tiffany will be starring (and brawling!) in MEGA PYTHON VS. GATOROID, the latest Syfy Saturday-night original movie. The network promises an ?epic battle.? This news doesn?t really come Out of the Blue, as both singer/actresses have appeared in Syfy movies before: Gibson starred in last year?s MEGA SHARK VS. GIANT OCTOPUS, while Tiffany recently fought MEGA PIRANHA.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gibson will essay a fanatical animal-rights activist who frees illegally imported exotic snakes from pet stores, sending them into the Everglades, where they grow to mega sizes. Tiffany will play an overzealous park ranger who uses dangerous methods to save endangered alligators. In the script, the pair fight at a party, then take matters outside into the swamp. Oh yeah, and the reptiles battle too.

MEGA PYTHON VS. GATOROID sounds like it could be cheesy Syfy fun. EVIL EYES' Naomi Selfman is penning the project, which will begin shooting this month and air next year. PET SEMATARY?s Mary Lambert (!) will be directing.
