"A bus driver has been forced to resign after veering into the wrong lane to flatten a snowman.

The bus can be seen in a YouTube video deliberately crossing on to the wrong side of the road to demolish the sculpture built on a quiet residential road by students.

The incident was filmed on the on the University of Illinois campus in Urbana."

I guess that it is a normal reaction for all of us but in "normal" society, breaking traffic laws for displays of aggression is not wanted. Even for fun...

He could have just said the bus slid on the icy roads.

But that would be a lie to the face of the public.
Also well accepted when talking to spouses and such or being a politician even, especially on Balkan peninsula.
But that bus driver is/was in public service and I think that laws are a bit strict out there, in the west. Especially when it was documented and displayed in public.
Anyhow, we now officially know who hates snowmen, and why
