it's not as serious as the title may seem  but NBC sent our ISP a legal letter saying that I was caught downloading one of their shows.  and the ISP emailed me a warning. The episode I got from a great TV Edonk website called TV Underground. Pretty much NBC can suck my gigantic nutsack  Now I'll just have to stop uploading I believe thats how they catch people right? It just hurts me when I can't give back to the community

I wasn't using peerblocker it was the last episode of the community on NBC I live in the USA, where they're super anal about this shit NBC can suck my nuuuuuuuuuuuts I will give those other suggestions a try though, thanks!

thanks for your answers! peerblock comes in very handy, since obviously there are some people out there that are constantly checking IPs and updating blocklists - thanks for those guys! I always thought that tv show downloads weren?t monitored - you could always record these directly when broadcasted? good luck to you anyways!

IMHO those lists are just placebo. If you follow slyck.com and similar File Sharing news sites/blogs, you can read about countless real life of cases where these lists haven't helped a bit. They block IP ranges associated to some big corporations, but they are not the ones doing the monitoring. |

Community is getting low rattings and it's all YOUR fault! Kind of scary as I thought emule was being ignored in favor of torrents and direct downloads watching. Protocol obfuscation isn't supposed to help prevent this stuff? |

It happened again..... This time it was for Cowboys and Aliens, I got from sharethefiles. the E-mail said it was for sharing copyrighted blah blah, and that NBC universal was who contacted our ISP. Unfortunately I can't get a third strike where i'm living, so i've had to stop downloading all together. I really really want to contribute to the sharing of movies, but that's how you get caught. Does anyone have any 100% foolproof way I can use Edonkey? Like is there a way I can set Emule to not upload at all? I don't trust peerguardian enough. |

Safest methods involve some money. Usenet as I said earlier or a VPN. Somewhere around US$ 9 a month and you are set. Next option would be using just small private torrent trackers. Or as gnollie/Scabby suggested direct downloads. If you want to keep using the mule without a VPN, then don't get mainstream stuff! No Cowboys and Aliens or popular TV series/apps/games. Peerguardian and all that shit is pure placebo, don't think they'll help you. |

Well i have quite a safe method. Fuck the internet, go back to the early 90's and just buy/rent vhs tapes. Darn i miss those days. I newer got a warning from ISP because i live in a fucking nowhere. SOmething close to Africa
