ok, as most of you know, I switched my old 17" for a new 22" widescreen monitor this week now my question is: when I play certain movies, they are stretched all over the place, is this normal?? can it be changed with videosettings in your player?? its not like I'll die cos of it, but its always nicer to watch a movie not in SD mode

VLC should do this (4:3, 16.9 changes) automatically... |

What re you playin them with? Playing it fullscreen should just automatically fill the screen (if its 16/9). Do you use MediaPlayerClassic? Also what is your desktop resolution? |

yes, I use MPC my res is 1360x768 atm edit: tried it with vlc & thats much better indeed, 2 black bars, left & right of the film, but this should be only natural I think I hope I can get MPC to do it that way, coz I like that player better I took a pic of both players in fullscreen, the first one is MPC, the second VLC. Now if only I could manage the vlc picture in mpc, I'd be happy

oh I see you had MPC set to 'stretch to window' 
right-click and go to video frame>'keep aspect ratio' and then 'touch window from inside' and you can use the numpad to stretch/zoom the picture to make it look more better right. I hate VLC.... |

thx grind, that did it, I was looking for that option, but forgot to look in video frame (which would've been the most logical choice to start with )
