What do you prefer? I read that the idx/sub are prefered cause they're image based (what's the big deal about that?). But, since I download these AFRs, it seems that those subtitles can't fit onto a dvd with the movies, so I just rip them with SubRip to srt. |

I prefer srt as well, but to make them takes more time then just rip those IDX/SUB files Most of the time the subtitles from a DVD have similar characters. For instance the capital I and the small l the subrip program can't distinguish them and makes them equal. I usually try to fix it afterwards. |

I prefer srt, you don't need anything more than just plain text in my opinion. That said I don't usually make srts for my rips.

That said I don't usually make srts for my rips. +1 I really can't be bothered to put time in making srt's for my rips. It takes tooooooo much time making them correct and fixing spelling errors. AND NO not even subrip can do that perfectly. I think if someone wants srt's (s)he should make those and share them for the rest. |
