Post dvd compression?
http://community.sharevirus.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=28

Quote:
Encoding: Region Free ISO images created with DVD Shrink 3.2 - DVDR5 1:1 Copy except -
DVD 4 Compressed to 67% - DVD 8 Compressed to 90% - DVD 12 Compressed to 90%

I suppose this means the quality on the shrinked discs is lower than on the non-shrinked ones?

Or maybe they can be "unshrinked" somehow (doesn't sound probable to me, but then again I have no idea what the fuck I'm talking about ^^ )?

Yup, compressed DVD's are of lower quality then full dvd's. Although for viewing purposes it mostly ain't a problem, for encoding it's mostly not good

Thanks for the info.
Now, another question:

Let's say I downoad a shrinked dvd without knowing so. Is there any way to find out if it's been shrinked?

You can usually do a google search. sometimes they mention the type of DVD
(DVD5 or DVD9)
That's what I do.

With the more rare stuff it's hard to tell.
I know the Critters movies (which will be released soon in WS + 5.1 sound) are around 3.7GB without extras. I doubt they were a DVD9, but you wont know 100%
If the shrinker is a total moron it could have been a 5GB DVD9 shrinked to 3.7GB :D
