Post got a problem with morphxt 10.5
I've been using morphxt for a couple of months now.
A few days ago it started turning off by itself.

I minimize it to system tray and a couple of hours later it's gone.
Then I looks at Task Manager and it's gone from there as well.

Does anyone know what's happening?

v10.5 works awesome for me! Best morph yet IMO.

I'd say uninstall it completely (remove folders, reg entry, etc) and hopefully it will work better for you. I have XP Home right now and Morph is running 24/7/31 right now.

I uninstalled completely, and reinstalled.

Now it won't connect to any servers (so I can't bootstrap Kad).

Damit, from one crap into another :D

Forget the servers, go KAD only

Depends, sometimes you need to start downloading a file from server users to get KAD clients (using bootstrap). Had to do that at my friends place when he switched ISP's :pork:

I don't care about the servers, I only use them for bootstrapping to Kad, as Lux said.
I don't know any other way to connect to Kad right now.

Download a nodes.dat file and copy it to your /config folder: http://www.nodes-dat.com/

Close your connection to KAD and download the nodes.dat file. Save it in your eMule/Config directory and then connect to KAD-Network. Thats it.

I bootstrapped through some guy whose address I found on some emule board :D

Would it be better to download the nodes file anyway?

That nodes file is always updated. There are some emule mods that are designed to work kad only and they download that very same nodes.dat file.

If you are connected to Kad now it's fine, but you can download that file next time if needed.

been using KAD only on aMule for months, best way really, getting sources will be slightly slower but who cares, KAD has way more efficiency then noob servers, i.e. bad nodes are cleaned, always updating, better searches (rare stuff), main little problem though is, it doesn't fully support obfuscation 'yet' soon though soon..

servers suck my balls.

got another question about emule and didn't want to open a new topic:

what's your settings to hard limit and max connections?

emule has been crashing every few hours lately so I'm trying the default 100/400 right now, don't know what else to do.... :wallbash:

oh and btw, don't knowif it's important, but I have windows firewall on.

i found out my main problem with emule was that i wasn't leaving enough free space on my harddrive.

if you have a router and using a Windows based OS i suggest;

connection tab:
upload limit: 75-90% of real up speed
hardlimit: 400 (or 3000 if using global limit in morph options)
max connections: 200

extended tab:
new connection / 5 secs: 10
half open connections: 9 (50 if on Win2K)

eMule guru and expert "niclights";
niclights from forum.emule-project.net wrote:
It is unlikely you will find figures for most home routers/modems. XP can handle approx 2000 simultaneous connections AFAIK, but experience here tells us that many home routers have difficulty above 200.

Since it will not have any adverse affect on transfer speed there is no reason to not assume this is the case and enforce connection values to suit. These only determine how fast initial contacts are made with sources and ultimately how many useful sources you can maintain before they become wasted.

In summary it works like this:

We assume 200 simultaneous is hardware limitation, so this becomes the Max Connections value.

Then we set a connection rate that will avoid this limit ever being reached. This is not an exact science but, once again, experience tells us 10 Max New Connections/5sec is safe.

Since the client will 'reask' every 30mins, this will permit the contacting of approx 3600 sources. Any more would be ignored. To give margin for error we approximate this to 3000 sources total.

Max Half-Open Connections is mostly determined by operating system. XP SP2 and above have maximum of 9. Although there is a registry patch to allow more it is not usually necessary.

As Wulp detailed, the Hard Limit is up to the user and is a compromise between number of files and sources per file. Ultimately all you are interested in is the sum total.
Many mods recognise the importance of this and have a value called Global Hard Limit.

I'd post my configuration but am using linux and running eMule ZZUL BastarD mod through Wine.. so my settings would be useless to your setup ^^
