Hey all, esp. the people I already know.

Having some issues creating a new nfo and knew you guys would be able to help. I'm having the same kinds of problems as DoN was getting my brilliant but handwritten nfo to show up correctly in Cool Beans. I've finally got jack of editing everything by hand and need to automate stuff.

I keep getting either $ or : show up when I try importing the text across. If anyone is able to get the following to translate properly I'll give you...well, I've give you something nice as soon as I think of something.

End result doesn't have to be as wide as this one is and I'm not fussed about the borders on the left and right either if anyone wants to get creative.

Welcome TheRealTAR to the number one shithole on the web :cheer: :shit:

To clear your problem i first have to know what program you have used to create the ascii stuff. Somehow i can't select it without eventually causing the same problems as you have described. I've tried a dozen of diiferent ascii & ansi creator progs and the best for making ascii upto now for me has to be ASCII Art Studio. For automating your NFO files i would stick with Cool Beans NFO creator in combination with the template mode ;) , and for viewing try out DAMN NFO Viewer.

Normally i don't have a problem getting images/art from ASCII Art Studio to look good there and also looking good in Cool Beans NFO Creator. So my guess is the problem has something to do with the prog you used to create the art with or the way you have saved/copy pasted it into Cool Beans NFO Creator.

Also i noticed that your lay-out in total is 4 blocks to wide. For an optimal end result (viewing wise etc.) you should make it at least 4 blocks les wide ;) As for the borders on the left and the right they can work without 'moving around' but then you have to make sure the info/text you put between them isn't too long.

Sorry for the late reply, been busy.

Thanks for the help Pure. I managed to get the old nfo imported into ASCII Art Studio and was able to get it looking good and reduced width too.

Still trying to figure out why Cool Beans has so many redundant fields and dumb options. Why not increase the number of custom fields ffs!? I'd use MediaInfo if it wasn't so damn difficult to use.

As for Cool Beans and redundant fields, just adjust the legend in your NFO template and link to a field that you don't use. For instance: Under 'movies' there's no field for total playing time, just use the one under 'music' called duration (${45}). That way you don't need to have more custom fields ;)
