Post movie play speed
I need to play a movie and an audio file at the same time
they both need to be in sync with each other.

but some rips of movies move too fast for the audio.

any way i can get VLC or something to slow the movie down very slightly?

Well there's three speeds

23.976fps
25 fps
And sometimes with crappy DV movies you might have 29.90fps

In Virtualdub you can match the framerate with the audio

Wont take long either

Nope, audio consists of a wave pattern where a video consists of frames. So basicly a movie is a very fast slideshow where audio is a continues stream.

You can alter the speed of audio with some programs like Cool Edit Pro, but I wouldn't play with it much.
I've spend a lot of time synching movies that way.

BTW, I dont know VLC much so I dont really know its capabilities, but you should grab virtualdub. That way you can make it working permanently

in my experience the sample rate of the audio is important as well
often when it's 44khz instead of 48khz it gets desync

Post Re: movie play speed
thanks, i'll pay attention to the sample rate hz as well.
23.9 seems to be the way to go though.

it was actually roadhouse and Next that were 25fps.
we kept syncing the movie and the audio back up, but it'd just get off again.

i haven't finished the second glitter download yet :bla:
(first one was spanished dubbed)

maybe it gets desync because the audio is VBR?

i read in the player that it won't change the audio speed when you reduce the FPS on the video

so the only way is redo the source material!!!
maybe i'll rent glitter and rip it for here :cum:
