Vista x64 rocks my butt!
Yep the world is coming to an end... I installed Vista 64 bit The LastV v2 version though gotta love never entering a SN during install It's like raping my own balls, just plug it in and scratch But seriously this is fantastic. Photoshop CS3 performance is now even better with all 4gb of ram seen by windows (gotta buy another 4 the upcoming week now that it makes sense to have em ) and all the 32 bit apps are working. I just copy pasted Emule Mephisto (this mod is awesome you don't even have to install it ). My only complaint for now is that my x264 encode FPS speed dropped but I'm guessing that could be fft3dgpu in Udegrain not running properly maybe? I'll have to look into that. This thread is a huge lump of shit but it's 3:46 in the morning and now I'll go masturbate.

Re: Vista x64 rocks my butt!
good look with Microdick drivers they suck anus, Vista 64 is very young and stupid, it will crash. Linux 64 is old and smart, it almost has Alzheimer's disease... ohh and btw when you say you don't have to install Mephisto.. well, yeah, your using the binary file obviously soo the .exe is just linked with the config files, all the installer does is tell your OS you have installed eMule.

In theory it could run ~10-15% faster but... you'll need a 64bits Avisynth, 64bits version of all your plugins and 64bits version of x264. There is an alpha version of Avisynth running at 64bits, but there are no plans to support 64bits x264 for Windows. There is only 64bits x264 for Linux.

Yeah that's a shame... Oh well, this will do for now ASS is no x64 flash since there is a x64 Firefox build... But I',m still kinda convinced the drop in my case can be fixed. Maybe later I post a question at doom9, or not.. bleh now I just wish I had a dual quad cpu with this

Re: Vista x64 rocks my butt!
Oh and I have a 3650 with 512 GDDR3 which is pretty low end (since I never counted on using GPU capable filters) Guess I should perhaps upgrade to 4850/4870 soon for much better performance

Re: Vista x64 rocks my butt!
BTW the trouble was as I wrote on the doom9 forum it seems me putting the fftw3.dll in the wrong folder so it made fft3dgpu go borked. But that doesn't matter anyway now as I found out about the modified multi-threading avisynth. Check out this script which was running at ~4,55 fps with regular avisynth and fft3dgpu: Code: mpeg2source("D:\SECRET PENIS") crop(10,6,-12,-10) Spline36Resize(688,512) UDegrain(radius=1,settings="light", thsad=120) a= last b=a.degrainmedian(mode=4) SeeSaw(a,b, NRlimit=6, NRlimit2=7, Sstr=1.5, Slimit=1, Spower=2, Sdamplo=6, Szp=16, soothet=90, soothes=80) and now with regular FFT3Dfilter + SetMTmode Code: SetMTMode(mode=2,threads=4) mpeg2source("D:\DEEPSTAR_SIX\d2v\VTS_01_1.d2v")
crop(10,6,-12,-10) Spline36Resize(688,512)
UDegrain(radius=1,settings="light", thsad=120, gpu=false) a= last b=a.degrainmedian(mode=4) SeeSaw(a,b, NRlimit=6, NRlimit2=7, Sstr=1.5, Slimit=1, Spower=2, Sdamplo=6, Szp=16, soothet=90, soothes=80)
speed is ~ 5.97 FPS. Oh mommy Can't wait to shove another 4 gigs into this pee hole

Re: Vista x64 rocks my butt!
Hmm... Vista. Personally, I'm perfectly happy with my wonderfully stable XP Pro x64. It handles my E6850 3.0 GHz Core 2 Duo and 4 GB of RAM beautifully, without having to throw away half my software and buy new peripherals like I would have had to do for Vista. As for Adobe CS3, it does all of that too... Dreamwever, Soundbooth, and Photoshop all run smooth and get the job done at lightning speed. If it wasn't for all of the nuisances though (like having to create installers, etc., etc.), I'd have to say that my Linux machine is my fav. There's just something beautiful about a machine run entirely on freeware, including the OS, with very little CPU and RAM overhead. You don't even have to go through all of the pointless registration and activation crud you have to with Windows.. which is great if you enjoy upgrading your system from time to time, or have a knack for bricking your OS. Being able to have multiple desktops to switch between is a fun "extra" you can't really get from Windows too.

Re: Vista x64 rocks my butt!
Well Last Vista works great here. Just need more RAM. Actually I'd need 8 cores I switched my video editing machine to Vista too since Composer 3 now officially supports 64 bit.
