Sorry man, I would but I don't use MeGui, so I can't really help much. All I can tell you is that Telmo was suggesting you run a compressibility check before you run the encode to help avoid oversized/undersized rips.

Updated AviSynth Plugins folder. Attention this is only for AviSynth 2.5.7!

Highlights:
- MCTemporalDenoise v1.4.18.
- Deblock_QED_masktools_fix.avs. Modified version of Deblock_QED that works with MaskTools 2.0a43.

there is a folder called system32. Copy the 4 DLLs from that folder to \WINDOWS\system32. I think the equivalent folder on XP 64 is \WINDOWS\SysWOW64\

Download: Multiupload | Mediafire | TinyUpload

am I to picky... :teeth:

source (top) vs. encode (bottom):
Image
Image

Image
Image

1/3 DVD size, bitrate is 1330 kbit/s and movie length is 1h 57mn.

FR is 19.98 with this:
Quote:
MCTemporalDenoise(settings="very low",GPU=false,chroma=true,enhance=false,sharp=false)

question: should I make CRF 18-19 with --tune grain instead?

A bit. It's a fine result for a ratefactor ~20. A 1/2DVD or a CRF ~19 with --tune grain will look a bit better. You decide! :probe:

what about TTempSmooth (stabilize via MCTemporalDenoise)... any experience with that?

Quote:
stabilize bool = based on mode
Enable ttempsmooth post processing to stabilize only flat areas (background will be less "nervous")

You won't notice the difference, the boost is too small.

You have a nice looking encode. You can release it as it is, or you can aim for a higher transparency to the source by using more bitrate (1/2DVD or CRF ~19). :clown:

Never ran into a Bluray this compressible. I am trying at 1/3 dvd (trying to grab extra details), bitrate 1321 and I get 17.59 FR. My compression test was 19 wtf?

The iframes are crazy: x264 [info]: frame I:1192 Avg QP:13.91

So 1/4 dvd 576p?

When the compressibility is too high, the test tends to give you a higher RF (19 vs 17.59). What's the movie?

I asked because movies that are too dark are a bit tricky. Try a 1/4DVD, but if you see banding, go for 1/3DVD.

I will probably go 1/3 because 1/4 877 bitrate sounds a bit crazy don't you think?
