BTW, the NERO AAC encoder is not downloaded/updated by MeGUI. Get it here: http://www.nero.com/eng/downloads-nerod ... -codec.php

then go to MeGUI -> Settings -> Program Paths -> Audio and setup the path for neroAacEnc.exe

NeroAACenc.exe is missing, fixed that now

I thought it was in the package of MeGui.
I was wrong then.

It still gives problems though, so I'm gonna focus more on video and bitrate before I try audio. Audio is less important to me for now

Post Re: Ripping/encoding/releasing Q & A Prt. II
You don't need an FLV file. Flash can work with MP4, which is the recommended container for h264 encoded videos for flash.

Remember: http://elguaxo.googlepages.com/the.silent.city

Code:
<script type="text/javascript" src="swfobject.js"></script><div id="player"><a href="http://www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer"><img tabindex="0" alt="get flash player" src="get_flash_player.png" border="0" height="33" width="112"></a> to see some nice music videos.<br>Or your browser does not support Javascript (you should enable it, perhaps?)</div><script type="text/javascript">
var so = new SWFObject('mediaplayer.swf','mpl','496','228','9.0.124.0');
so.useExpressInstall('expressinstall.swf');
so.addParam('allowscriptaccess','always');
so.addParam('allowfullscreen','true');
so.addVariable('smoothing','false');
so.addVariable('width','496');
so.addVariable('height','228');
so.addVariable('file','the.silent.city.mp4');
so.addVariable('bufferlength','6');
so.addVariable('image','the.silent.city.jpg');
so.addVariable('volume','70');
so.write('player');

</script>

the file your seeing is the.silent.city.mp4

Post Re: Ripping/encoding/releasing Q & A Prt. II
I'm almost getting it

The black bars are weird though

I've encoded a video in 384x288
I put these settings in the script. I get 2 black bars on the left and right
If I change the first settings to 358x288 it works fine without black bars

Does this mean the video is encoded in 358 instead of 384

Working on the audio now to see if I can get that to work

I don't think XP 64 is the problem, but still, why XP 64? The most CPU intensive process you are running is probably encoding. Xvid, Avisynth and all the filters are all 32bits, so you won't get any extra speed by using XP 64.

It should work without problems, but XP 64 is a lame OS that lacks support, specially when it comes to drivers.

@ Mariachi, in my sample above the resolution of the.silent.city.mp4 is 496x208 but the player needs 20 pixels for the control bar so the resolution in the html code is 496x228.

No idea, sorry. Reinstall XP32 or even Vista. This one is really nice: http://forum.ftireloaded.net/viewtopic. ... 466#513466

You can switch to Linux (XUbuntu) and use AviDemux for encoding. I'm going to do just that. ;)

This ripping and encoding thread is more like Tell Elguaxo about your problems :D

I've one. How can you synch audio in an MP4 file
My encodes have a slight problem (maybe a 200ms delay)

EDIT: this site claims Quicktime can do it for you
http://www.electricdeath.com/blog/1231

I couldn't get it to work

I can also alter the audio from the WAV file before I mux it all together. But I've to guess first

lol

you can add/substract a delay while muxing. Yamb is the GUI for muxing MP4: http://kurtnoise.free.fr/index.php?dir=Yamb/

MeGUI has also a muxer where you can delay the audio track: Tools -> Muxer -> MP4 muxer

What progies did you already try? NanDub? VirtualDub?

Damn. I thought it can handle AviSynth scripts. I wonder what made me think that, since all filters are Micro$oft DLLs anyway. :wallbash:

How can you know what kind of frame (P/B/I) are you seeing? :!

I-Frames: biggest size and more details
P-Frames: lower size but usually less details than I-Frames
B-Frames: smallest size but most of the time this is the worst looking frametype

We usually want to keep a low Standard deviation to get a similar quality among all frames and avoid the "swimming walls" effect you get when the Standard deviation is bad. Last time I saw prodji, they just boosted the keyframes: viewtopic.php?p=75315#p75315

You can enable FFDShow to show the frametype (OSD -> Frametype), then load your AVI in VDM via Directshowsource and you can browse through the video seeing if a frame is I, P or B.

Read more here: viewtopic.php?p=80560#p80560

^^

and send this to mromariz:
