@cuub: I'm out of ideas. I've never worked with a HDDVD/MPEG2. What about remuxing the video to MKV via eac3to and then opening it in Avisynth via FFMPEGSource? Try also doom9, there are a couple of guides. Tell us once you find the solution! ^^

Humm... i'll try to find the solution. Thank you anyway! :pooper:

Telmo, delete this file, move input.ac3 to the same directory where's eac3to and try again.

P.S. Btw, since you don't understand anything about cmd :p and it's Christmas time, here you go.

DGIndex can handle .TS/MPEG2 files just fine. Perhaps remuxing the .MPV into .TS via TSMuxer?

Good luck!

I'm gonna try that. Well, i'm gonna try in a small different way because doing exactly that DGIndex complains about the PIDs.

Telmo, use the GUI version.

Well, i think i've found a simple way of ripping HD-DVD VC-1. Tonight I'll do some tests and then, if everything is ok, i'll post here. ;)

Is anybody interested in a tutorial for HD-DVD VC-1?

Small tutorial for HD-DVD VC-1

Needed Software

1.
Usually EVO files are under a folder named HVDVD_TS. Here you have all the files containing the video and the audio. Usually there are a lot of files. Although, the movie is commonly contained in a couple of files (the biggest) named FEATURE_1.EVO, FEATURE_2.EVO ...
Saying this, the first thing to do is to join this evo files.
How?
  • Open EVO Demux
  • Go to the Options tab and select the following options: "Continue with the next EVO" and "Fast EVO checking"
  • Open the first evo file containing the main video
  • Now you can select the audios, subs, etc, you want under the correspondent tabs
  • Press Demux to join all the video in one evo file

2.
Repeat the previous point but instead of pressing Rebuild, use the Demux option to separate the audio and subs you've selected for the new EVO file.

3.
Start up Graphstudio and press "Ctrl + F" if you look on the picture below you can see all the filters. Be sure you are under the "Directshow filter" section.
Image
  • Choose "Haali Media Splitter" it will prompt you for the file, choose the one you want to decode "yourLatestCreatedEVOfile.evo"
  • Insert the "WMVideo Decoder DMO" Filter
  • Join the two filters by dragging the mouse from "Video" to "In"
  • Now save your graph

4.
Create an avs script with following lines:
Code:
directshowsource("yourmovie.grf",audio=false,fps=23.976)
converttoyv12()

5.
Be aware of the resolution:
Code:
spline36resize(1280,720) # for video with a source roughly 1920x1080 after cropping
spline36resize(1280,688) # for video with a source roughly 1920x1040
spline36resize(1280,544) # video source 1920x816
spline36resize(1280,536) # video source 1920x800 - pick 536 or 528 depending on which one looks better to you.
spline36resize(1280,528) # video source 1920x800

6.
Do some magic and share the final result ;)

Don't say anything about that... I accidentally deleted the movie... I was playing with some things on the command line but i didn't realize i was under the wrong directory (the name was very similar)

Hi friends I have a problem.

I want to rip a movie and extra but Movie ends in vob5 middle and extra starts and extra ends in vob6 middle.

If I rip movie normally I will rip part of extra too.

So what should I do for keeping size I want. Can I split vob where I want?

Sorry for my bad english. :wallbash:

Try DVD Decrypter and decrypt just the movie (or the extra) you want to encode to a new vob. Just select the correct PGC (ProGram Chain) that matches the length of your movie (or extra) and decrypt.

i am using Graphstudio under the "Directshow filter" section and also both filters "Haali Media Splitter" and "ffdshow Video Decoder"

Which CQM lies between Heini_MR and Didees_6of9...?

Jawor's 1CD (or Soulhunters v8)

Jawor's ZSM
EQM V3HR
Heini_MR
6of9
More Details/Less Compressibility

If you get an undersize with one, use the next bigger one. If you get an oversize, use the next smaller one.

Heini_MR with only 1 B-Frame :clown:

I'm sure there is some other matrix in between, but Heini_MR and only 1 B-Frame is good too.

If that isn't enough you can use the zone options and reduce the overall number of b-frames. :)

Currently the minimum is -35, anything below will not make any difference. There is no maximum, but value is pretty sensitive; 5 will give you a reasonable boost. I'd say
that practical maximum is about 25.

It's the last value in the "zone options" window.

With AFR rips yopu DO NOT want many bVOPs, it will decrease the overall visual quality. You also DO NOT want only 1 BVOP, that is just wasting compression. EVEN with mkv H2penis format. The point of compression is: High resolution, Quality motion, and no wasted 'junk' bits! If ypu use gknot or some advanced settings program, then limit that shit. Also make sure "vhq" is set. The first encodes will be undersized, but it allows smaller filesze, I.E. two hour/and a half WS films can be 1.46GB, not the all to common 2.18GB or more. Keep the res and shrink the filesize I say! (and yet I don't dl mkv rips... very often)

on a "regular movie" the difference in compressibility between 2 max consecutive BVOPs and 1 max consecutive BVOP is just 3%.
