The difference i know but thanks for this:
Quote:
You can enable FFDShow to show the frametype (OSD -> Frametype), then load your AVI in VDM via Directshowsource and you can browse through the video seeing if a frame is I, P or B.

Post Re: Ripping/encoding/releasing Q & A Prt. II
My new PC has arrived. It has processor with 4 cores.

Can I improve the encoding speed by specifying the thread count in MeGUI?

If so, does the thread count include the master thread that passes the work to the slave threads? If so, I must set it to 4, if not I should set it to 3.

let it on auto. And:

- Xvid does not scale very well among multiple cores. There's is nothing you can do about it.
- x264 scales amazingly well among multiple cores, almost linear. So 4 cores is really 4 times faster than 1 core.
- the bottleneck is avisynth. That's the tricky part, very tricky... You must start to use this and learn how to tweak it for the different filters you will use.

I'll have a look, thanks! However I couldn't find that "auto" setting. I can set the number of threads in the profile settings only.

Oh I see. There is no such thing for XviD. Thanks for taking the time of making a screenshot. ;)

I need a nice sharpen filter for my AVS script in Megui

I got a shitty source from a video company and I really want to sharpen it

I also want to buttfuck them video companies for sucking more than me at ripping material. In this case their OWN material.

Post Re: Ripping/encoding/releasing Q & A Prt. II
I was reading this article:

http://filesharefreak.com/2008/11/19/bl ... d-formats/

Code:
BRRip = An XviD encode from a Blu-Ray release (i.e. a 1080p *.mkv file).

BDRip = An XviD encode directly from a source Blu-Ray disk.

My question: which softs would be necessary to make a rip from a mkv 720p for example.

Resuming: what prodji and code do.

All that you need to do the others :) There's no magic on what they do. They probably extract the video from the source (with, maybe, mkvextract) and then do their terrible magic with the filters. Finally, they reencode (with megui or GK).

extract with mkvextract and then use DGAVCDec to create a .dga file out of the .h264 video stream. And then use AVCSource to load it into AVISynth, for example:

Code:
AVCSource("myvideo.dga")

I don't like using reencoded sources, highdef or not. But if you use them, then say it on your NFOs!

Thanks, I will try this. :!

I think you don't need to specify cus has already a tag for it:

BRRip = An XviD encode from a Blu-Ray release (i.e. a 1080p *.mkv file).

BDRip = An XviD encode directly from a source Blu-Ray disk.

please do it. CODE is using the BDRip tag right now and I'm sure their sources aren't untouched.

Indeed. I will do it (if I make a reencode). ;)

Just checked in STF and CODE rip is tagged BDRip what is incorrect. :ere:

no. Links and instructions for mkvextract have been posted several times already, search! And then read the manual of DGAVCDec. ^^

don't know. Use the whole path for the .dga file maybe?

Code:
AVCSource("D:\something\mysource\video.dga")
