OK, how to set things up?

I have the following configuration: cable modem > wireless router > laptop. Modem and router are connected through UTP cable, and laptop connects via wireless connection. Now, when I set up the whole thing, I left all the default settings (automatic IP and DNS), which is obviously not good enough because I get low ID on emule (port test fails, both arrows yellow). Concerning configuration figures, I only know that my router's address is 192.168.2.1. I tried to forward some ports to resolve that emule problem, but obviously I did something wrong :beh:

Any idea how to set up everything to get a good emule connection?

You need to forward the 2 ports that you configure within eMule. One UDP and one TCP port must be forwarded to your laptop. For this to be possible you need to have a static IP on your laptop. Either you configure a static DHCP lease on your router, or you configure a static IP (from the same subnet) on your laptop.

OK, but when I set up static IP on my laptop (same subnet, e.g. router is 192.168.2.1 and laptop is 192.168.2.2), I can't connect to the internet at all :wallbash:

You don't need a static IP. If your router has UPnP enable it and then your mule can open and close the ports as needed.

elguaxo, I love you  :stretch:

UPnP enabling seems to have solved all my problems :D

You must set the router's IP as default gateway.

Yeah, did it like that and no connection  Maybe I should've meddled around with it a little longer, but elhoneyguaxo's advice worked so I gave up the fine tuning :D Thanks anyway, mate! :cheer:

No problem mate. You are welcome.

It could be that some filter is disabling the connection.
