as the title says, I need an app that lets me record everything that happens on my screen, more even; I got a kvm switch coz I got 1 pc & 1 console hooked up to my monitor, I'd like to make recordings of my screen when its switched to console (I just put my digital camera in front of my screen now; it does the job, but the quality isn't all that good)

thx guys

problem is that they all record your pc main screen, but as soon as you switch to console, the prog doesn't register the switch & continues recording screen 1 (the pc & not the console)

Well thats because the split is external of the computer, and the software is internal and doesn't even know you are splitting the signal post-PC output. No software can do what you want, you have to record post-signal split and pre-monitor.

Code:
   PC          CONSOLE
   |                       |
   *__SWITCHER___*
              |
IN-LINE CAPTURE DEVICE
              |
         MONITOR

A video camera with an input would work. Or a plain ol' VCR, or a standalone DVD Recording console.

One of those USB capture devices may be able to capture it to the HDD, but that might cause some damaging feedback, looking at the program preview window with the image being routed back to the same pc.

Good luck! and let us know when you got a solution.
