Post subject:  how do I remove this?

so yesterday 2 torrents screwed up when I downloaded them & now I'm stuck with these 2 files of 0kb that I can't delete (tried shift+delete >doesn't work, also right clicking em doesn't work)

already did a ccleaner + reg mech sweep + rebooted, I still can't delete em (not that it hurts, since they take up no space; I just wanna know why I can't delete em, or how I can ;) )

Could it be that the Torrent progie is still running and locking the files?

You can probably remove them if you right-click on them in uTorrent and select Remove and delete torrent ;)

don't install latest anyway... :non:

You are right. Unlocker works really great, but recently, it has started including these things with the installer, which is not good. The recent version 1.9.0 goes even one step ahead. If you choose not to install the Bing toolbar, it makes you wait for 30 seconds. Even after that, on the last screen, there is a checbox to untick the ebay shortcuts. If you are not careful to do that, the ebay shortcuts would be installed on the PC.

In the previous versions, even if you chose not to install the ebay shortcut, an exe called ebay.exe would still be there in the Program Files folder for Unlocker. Thankfully, its not there in this version.

Be careful with the installers nowadays. They are getting sneakier with these bundled software.

obviously, since I can't right click, unlocker doesn't work (I tried it before)

and no collie, both files don't even show up in utorrent (I'm not THAT stupid ;) )

Boot your computer with Ubuntu, delete the files and done. ;)

Ubuntu's setup CD comes with an option called "Live CD". That option runs the whole OS from the CD and doesn't touch your HD.

The file is gone but windows thinks it's there.
