Post Missing partitions on Windows 7 64bit
When i started up my computer today I noticed I was missing 4 partitions that I made on my hDD, among them my personal partition, my downloads, schoolwork and design partition. Yesterday before I shut it down it was all ok.

In the management console I can see ~400 GB of available space but no drive letter of path assigned. Anyone have a clue how to regain my partitions? Is it as simple as using a restore point? Or maybe assigning a drive letter and path and all will be still there? Dont want to loose any data so before I go ahead and try stuff out I wanted to know if anyone has any idea whats wrong. Me and computers  :grrr:

GetDataBack has been the best program for me. It's easy to find Image

Thanks, giving it a go now. Its searching and eta is around two hours

Edit:
1) cmd --> list volume also doesn't recognize any partitions
2) system restore in the OS C:\ is somehow turned off, turning it on first gives me a 0x90070003 error and after that it shows system restore on C:\ turned on
3) GetDataBack gives me another error:
Missing signature in partition table
(sector 139270320) of drive 'HD128: (FSIFC: 343) 004F7424

I'm still able to continue scanning so thats another ~3 to 4 hours wait to see if it finds anything. It also stated that I should download the fat version while I'm 100% positive its NTFS

Tried a bunch of other ways to get all the stuff back like TestDisk, Recuva, RegCure, etc and all to no avail so I just reinstalled win7 again
Lost a lot of DVD's, music, but all that can be downloaded again. I do have a concern that my HDD is slowly dying but thats a problem to solve in the future.

The few times that GetDataBack did not work on a defective drive, all the other apps were also unable to get anything.

The problem is probably the drive itself. If you don't care for speed, then Western Digital Green are cheap and reliable drives. I use them a lot.
