Well skip the servers go for KAD only, that should be more then enough most times
Dunno about the router, I (thankfully) never had to use one

Post subject:  Re: How to download

IIRC someone once wrote that something called uPnP or so can solve the problem. You could try turning that on. On the router or in eMule I don't know.

But what I would suggest is a simple port forwarding, or leave the servers alone.

Post subject:  Re: How to download

uPnP is for cock newbies....
learn how to control your hardware (software too..) firewalls people...

p.s.
just started connecting to ed2k servers again (...was KAD only)...
..eDonkey No2 is under some heavy buttfuckage....
I think there blocking Obfuscation connections to save bandwidth because of the recent lack of good servers, there being hammered ATM.

Post subject:  Re: How to download

i portforwarded my shit
and now the ports check out

but i still can't connect to KAD or eD2k

red all the way

someone mentioned that their ISP completely blocked our Emule, think that could be my case?

Author:  gav616 [ Thu May 28, 2009 11:54 pm ]
Post subject:  Re: How to download

ISP's can limit connection on lower ports.

I personally have always over '40000'

i.e.

TCP: 54662 (Direct connection to peers)
Extended UDP: 54672 (KAD / global searches)
Server UDP: 54665 (Only for global server searches...good routers shouldn't need this opened)

but, tbh, 'flyingsheepcannon' if your still having trouble connecting to any ed2k variants, please feel free to PM for advice..

ISPs can do whatever they want/can. Aggressive traffic shaping can make it hard to impossible to get a high ID either on servers or KAD. If that's the case, then your are probably having problems with other services like SSH, VNC, RDP, and so on and no matter on what port they are running.

flyingsheep, I guess your problem is only proper portforwarding on your router, but there is a small chance that your ISP is fucking you in the ass :pooper:

Post subject:  Re: How to download

ISP's also can have bandwidth limits at certain times in the day, which cannot be helped.

which is big gay elephant, :ele:

Post subject:  Re: How to download

You said torrents were working. If your ISP does some kind of throttling then it will affect torrents, emule and many other apps, so if torrents work I doubt that the problem is your ISP.

Doesn't your ISP have forum or something? Ask there.

Author:  gav616 [ Tue Jun 02, 2009 11:04 pm ]
Post subject:  Re: How to download

yeap, emule is not the problem, its your ISP blocking or throttling low ports, TCP or the eMule protocol (have you tried obfuscation?)

find your ISP and have a gander:

i figured the ISP blocked all the servers
was going to try another mule as a last ditch effort

was thinking of getting another dedicated line from another ISP since this one is shit anyway :shit:
but i'ma call/check their forms beforehand
maybe i can :ohja: them to get them unblocked

You need that address so you can access the router from your PC? If that's the case it's probably 192.168.1.1 (check router documentation for username and password)

Author:  elchupacabra [ Fri Jan 29, 2010 11:22 am ]
Post subject:  Re: How to download

It's most likely 192.168.0.1

Do you have internet access?

You do have internet access, don't you? Or are you posting from somewhere else?

Image

Try "ipconfig" in a command line window. The router's IP should be the one listed as "default gateway".

OK, I'm retarded, I can't get the arrows green at least not at the same time, I can get up arrow green, but the down stays red, I tested my ports and everythings fine, I configured them and everything, I haven't used eMule since 2003 and don't remember how to deal with all this silliness.

Any suggestions.

i cant be arsed with the router setting myself either, i just run utorrent and everthing works fine. that emule shit is outdated slow crap not worth the hassel and hair pulling if you ask me. these ed2k links you find here at sbig also exist as torrents, and they are everywhere. as long you dont go anal on the rip specifications and must have 'that' ed2k link. becouse it have 'that' special rip spesifications you cant live without, you will do just fine... i start to use emule in 2002, i know what i am talking about. later on torrent arrived, i was very against it at first. but after i did a week of downloading with torrents, it was bye bye to slow cpu hugging emule. today it is only old folks, people that think emule are more safer from riaa/mpaa than torrent, stubborn people and alcoholics that cant be bothered to change their things of doing, that use emule.... but the positive thing about emule.. is the forums like sbig and others, they are more fun to hangout at than torrent forums...(like nazi camp cinemageddon = ratio macht frei)

that was todays harsh (maybe to harsh :hihi: ) rant... :old:

So KAD is connected, thats the most important. I havent been on a server for a long time now. If you really want to connect to a server you'll have to search for a save server list and update it through for instance the server.met file ;)

now if you must use emule... i say go for the kad and save your hair... server.met will only make you pull out your head...
