It opens fine using SubtitleEdit -> Import OCR/VobSub. You can get it here: http://code.google.com/p/subtitleedit/downloads/list -> SE32Beta3.zip :cheer:

I don't get it, then why won't a mediaplayer show em?

I'm just guessing, but I think these subs come from a "custom" DVD (for example differently colored lines ? la fansub). And custom jobs are sometimes a little b0rky.

I'll rip them for you, as long as the file isn't damaged. :cheer:

PS: I thing the timecode is overlapping, so you might have problem with that. But here's the ripped subs plus the program I did it with. :cheer:

ok, here's the correct link :wha:

if its all the same I'd rather just keep my vlc & mpc as standard player, I just want to know why they won't play this correctly ;)

So when I tried the .srt file, the timing was way off. But there's no problem with .idx/.sub - the subs are even colored (I guess that's why makes problems).
But I don't have mpc nor vlc installed to try it out with them.

yes, they are colored; and its just one ep of a 200 ep (well almost) show and all the others work fine here...
any chance you can fix the srt so the timing isn't off? i'll watch it like that then I don't mind what the subs are, as long as I can watch it :lol:

its very strange, when I play it in vlc, it says it has found the subs, in fact it even says they're english but thats it

Post subject: Re: can someone have a look at this subfile for me?

I tried but it looks like the timing is reversed.
Here, look at this. The first line appears at the 25th minute
and the last one appears at the 1st minute...

Quote:
1
00:25:30,029 --> 00:25:35,695
URUSEI YATSURA
(Those Obnoxious AIiens)

295
00:01:02,016 --> 00:01:07,579
We promised that the two of
us would be alone tonight.

I don't know an easy way to fix that. In fact the only way I know how to do that is to set manually every line, which is very time consuming... I've done this before, and I must say it took me two days to finish a movie. But than again the movie was English, so I knew what they were saying. I don't think I can manage that with Japanese/Chinese (or whatever that one is) language, where I don't understand jack squat. :haha:

I think the problem is with the idx/sub itself. So you can try using different player (one who can load idx/sub files) for this episode, and than delete it afterwords.

Cheers! :cheer:

Thanks for this, it solved a problem for me just now. When Subtitle Workshop fails, try Subtitle Edit!
