Post subject:  Fixing low ID
Hi all, I'm having a problem: my eMule went into low ID and I want my high ID back.

My wifi lost connection, so I had to restart my modem. After that, my wifi got fixed, but my ID went to low. I did the usual:
- reset settings as below on the screenshots
- restart PC

This usually works.

Here is my setup on my modem/router:

The portnumbers are the same as in my Connection Tab in eMule.

Didn't work, so I restarted the modem again, and did the settings thing again and restarting the PC too.

When that didn't work either, I did the three restarts, just to make sure. No dice. So now I'm kind of lost. Any ideas how to get my high ID back?

Do I need to change my IP adress?
Is something wrong with the ports?

Have you checked if the ports are open and not used by another program?

They weren't before, they're the same ports with which I had a high ID in the past 6 months until yesterday.

How can I check whether they're open or not?

Been a while since I had to do that. IIRC there should be an option in your modem/router.

Also, a quick Google gave me this result, could try that out as well:

Type "netstat -a" in the Command Prompt window, and press "Enter." The computer displays a list of all open TCP and UDP ports.

Look for any port number that displays the word "LISTENING" under the "State" column.


If you need to ping through a port to a specific IP use telnet.

Thanks, I did the command thing, as I can't find an option on my modem/router.

I found both ports (TCP and UDP) in the list. The TCP port is under "listening" and behind the UDP port it says *.* (not sure what that means). "Listening" means that it is open, right?

I don't have a very recent OS for Windows, so I'm not sure how to use telnet.


Oh, and not sure, but it might help: there were two computers on the network before, but now there is only one (and a mediaplayer).

That could be it AFAIK, but if the comp still has the same IP and uses the same ports it should make no difference IIRC

Thanks, the IP had changed, so I changed my setup to get the right IP All is good now!
