Post S-video out at high resolution
Ok I finally managed to connect my pc to my TV ^^

The problem is, it only looks good if my comp resolution is 1024x768 ... But I'm used to having 1280x1024..

Don't wanna be forced to always switch resolutions when going to watch something... Any suggestions???? :aww:

Yeah why not use a prog like UltraMon or simular so you can set your videocard to 2 devices one your pc monitor at 1280x1024 and one for your tv at 1024x768.

That does the trick here:cheer:

Do you have second monitor settings? I have my monitor, and then I have an S-Video out, and nvidia software lets me set different settings for each output.

I always used tvtool, but with present nvidia cards there's no need for that anymore.

My monitor is also set to 1280x1024, but you can set your tv-out in a different resolution.

With ATI I dont know how it works. Must be similar.

:ele:

Then again, I watch all the good shit on my HD Beamer :D

Hmmm just came back and am having problems...

When Im at the windows display settings... I can select my TV as the secondary monitor. I can then click "extend windows desktop" for it and it's on the tv, but only the background color without content. Hmmm I extended it all right..

Time to fool around some more :cum:

If I go to ADVANCE I can click on the TV icon to enable... there it says the TV resolution is 1024x768... But it isn't, the picture is fucked :grrr:

Okay I figured an anlternative...

But it's tooo fuckin slow :grrr: :grrr: :grrr: :grrr:

I made it so the TV is just an extended desktop when I got to the right. But when I transfer the movie there, it's playing very choppy and also everything on my main monitor slows the fuck down :grrr: :grrr: :grrr:

Uhmm, been searching the internet and here for some answers but no luck.

Anyways... My monitor resolution is 1280x1024...

Now I know that the Max TV res is 1024x768. Problem is I can't make the resolution on the TV smaller without decreasing it on the monitor.

Is there a way to have a different res on the TV whilst keeping my original one on the monitor?

I have an ATI btw... here are the settings:

Any help is greatly appreciated :beerchug:

What is that button with a circle on it? Next to it another button with one square behind another. What do those do?

In my setup, I have display 1 and display 2. I can extend the desktop, or just have a second display (and can send progs over to it).

The first button with the circle is for the primary display. The second one, when it's marked, means it duplicates all the content from the primary.

Well, I'm not that experienced with ATI cards, but while I still had the PC I had and nVidia card (nothing special) and in the Advanced tab i could choose whether I want to extend the desktop to the secondary display or clone it. Does ATI have such an option? I could set properties of TV and monitor independently.

Now, I have a laptop where I can't even have both of the displays turned on, when I want to watch the movie on the TV I must press ctrl+alt+F2, and then the monitor turns off. It irritated me a little bit at the beginning, but I'm too flegmatic to stay nervous for a long time... So I got used to it

there is a way i saw it at my friends, had the same problem, he said that you sholud use BS player, there you can set some setings so it can roll divxs on both monitor and tv, some interlay thingy, dont know jack about it...

as to differrent resolution there is a way i saw him do it, im gonna ask him.

properties - viedo - video rendering - overlay mode play around with options, you can watch movie on both.

as to resolution, (still in BS player) you go to general - start - switch to - and set the resolution you want it to play when you watch a movie with that prog. you can also set it to switch only wehn you watch it full screen!

now your monitor setiing can be set to whatever, but only when you watch movie with divx it changes to the resolution you whant, if you set it so that it switches only when its full screen you practically wont notice
