Hey guys, I have heard on dead donkey that if you burn dvds with nero they might not last more than 2 or 3 years..... I am buring my dvds with Nero Express, the files are all still in their original format..

So how long will burned DVDs last? I use sony DVDs and have a Sony burner that came with my sony RB. I burn with nero express and they are burned as data discs. I have the burning speed set the highest and I do verify the data when done burning

Best is to use a good quality disc for burning and don't overdo it with the burn speed.
I've never heard of a burning prog that made your discs last shorter :cheer:

dunno never used them, just make sure u use the better ones. I think the quality is almost always visible by the colour of the rear side of the disc. :cheer:

Not quite. I remember I saw some test results which show that it's best to burn at speeds declared on the disk itself. So, if you see on the disk "4x-16x" and you burn on 1x it might not be the best option. :beh:

I mostly use Traxdata at 2x (max burning speed of my drive :shy:) and none of the discs have failed on me yet... Well, the truth is that I usually burn PS2 games and when we finish playing them they go to the Limb (bottom drawer) never to see daylight again until the Cleaning Day, when they end up in the garbage, so maybe some of them don't work anymore, but it doesn't matter anyway.

What a useless post :ele:

I still have CDRs from 1996 that work perfectly. They were gold, red, green, blue, even one black one.

Funny thing is I could remember that the box had an expire date.
Something like 2011.

Those fuckers were expensive at that time
