An Idx-Sub subtitle problem
I was looking for a prog witch allows me to convert the sub (with the idx file) to plain str type, but no luck.
the damn progs don't recognize this kind of sub, neither with the good old one subtitle workshop.
is there such a program ? give me a little help here guys if you could

Yes they are recognized, you have to type it out manually (enter character it shows you).
It wont just convert it one click style. Only way I know how to do it, if theres another gimme gimme.
open subrip
click the vob button and select ifo/idx file. the new window hit verify and select language.
then it takes you through the 'identify' process. will show you a snippet of the vobsub text and you eneter what letter/number/character it is. You can bold and italic as well as enter music notes and other stuff.
then after that (it takes a while) you go to the small window left open displaying the text you entered. look through it and moake sure its right, then save as *srt file.
hope that helps!

although, technically speaking, if you got vobsub installed, & rename the sub/idx the same as your movie, your player should automatically open it

I do use subrip to convert them to srt
but I use vobsub to get my idx/sub files from the vob files.
Only problem is that my standalone sometimes has troubles with idx/sub files.
srt files work fine.

yeah, ok for standalone I understand that you convert em to srt, but for watching on the pc there's really no need to convert em
