That bitrate is the average bitrate. Some scenes will need much much more, others will need less bitrate. The small VOB you tried to encode is perhaps a scene that needs more bitrate, so encoding it at 1500kbps will give you bad results. The only way to have a preview of the final encode is to distribute those 1500kbps across many little scenes of the movie -> SelectRangeEvery(233, 14) Your final encode won't look exactly as your test, but this is the best sneak peak you can get. My own folder is pretty different now but dunno... wouldn't say it's release ready heini 1/1/0 failed as a filler between V3HR and V3 so that's still a mystery... And have started encoding with x264 too so it's encoding madness ovah here ass usual

"LUX-90","2","4","1",".",".","1","100","100","V3.cqm",".","2","3","2","4","2","4",".",".","0","-8","Y",".",".","." B-frames are kept at 3 as it would undersize (with exception of 1% DRF4) but with more P-frames replacing them it gained a bit of quality too and didn't undersize! I also removed VHQ for b-frames in this case. Gotta try it on Hellbound soon!

So far I know the most important thing of the first pass is to decide the frame type. Perhaps it is not necessary, but for me it makes sense to adjust the Sensitivity in the 1st and 2nd pass.
