avs is fine, plays in vdub. removeing xvidcore.dll didn't change anything. still the same error.

When running avsutil.exe on it's own I get the following error:
'This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.'

 But i would like to get gknot running aswell again. Once that's done i'll give avs2qxvid another go. Actually i was reading into it again about 15 minutes ago but i got lost at 1) how do i manually make the needed .avs file? Just copy paste the edited script i used to put in gknot into the avsqxvid folder?

Yeah yeah yeah i'll copy paste this post there  :bla:

@Pure, just make one with Gknot then edit it if you want in VdubMod. Once you have what you want in it you then proceed to the step of making the .txt file and then dragging the .avs onto the proggy.

Just make sure the .avs and the enc.txt is in the same folder, wherever you like it to be. Doesn't matter where avs2xvid is, you just drag the .avs onto it ;)

@Vae ... you also tried the other one I gae the link too? Damn, I've no idea, maybe elguaxo can think of something?

That is when i get gknot working again ;)
I've just grabbed an old .avs
dropped it on the bat file and comptest seemed to start working but then i got this:
Quote:
Preset "COMPT-30" is not found or incomplete.
Press any key to continue...

When i press a key that's it. It flashes and it's gone

I have just AMDs, single and dual core CPUs, and it has worked for me always. I will try it on a dual xeon next week to see what happens.

Have it on both dual Xeon HT and single Xeon HT.

Yeah just ignore it, but that was after the comptest was done right? Open the TMP folder where the .avs is and copy/paste what's in the log .txt file here ;)

Hey I don't know jack shit about these things

Hmmmm maybe you can replace it with an alternative if this won't work. Or perhaps it needs the vs2005 runtime

http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p ... post976025

I've no idea cause it works fine here, only xvidcore was giving me probs :beh:

already tried installing it, didn't help.
Also have vs2005 installed on my client pc.

Hmmmmmm let's try something.

Download the original avs2xvid.bat

http://dump.ru/files/f/f4007765508/

put it somewhere and try a COMPTEST sizeMB and see if it runs normally.

btw should it be: COMPTEST 1898 or COMPTEST 1898MB?

Post subject:

Aha! Good news! Could it be removing the other presets or perhaps modifying/adding the LUX-CT stuff elguaxo?

I've no idea but we need to fix it so Vae can start using the presets :)

The second one. You can also specifiy it in KB and whatnot. At least you can run the comptest before we workaround on re-adding presets.

And I think Packed Bitstream is turned on in the default.

nvm just see Pure had that prob as well.

Gimme a few mins Im uploading the new package, that one should work I think x)

New one is up! Get it from the first post.

Currently you can't run LUX-CT but a normal comptest and encoding with LUX presets should work. Lemme know :) :cheer:
