I dont know what im doing wrong. Just bought a new router, linksys, thats supposed to be good. Now whenever i run emule its shuting down and restarting. If im not runnning emule its working fine, but if i am it restrts every minute or so,,, any suggestions?

Dunno man. But if i we're you i would look at the thigs that have changed since it gone worse/bad and see if you can revert some changes while still using the new router.

Now I'm talking at least 6 years ago my router (not routermodem) could only have around 800 connections
Everytime it went above 800 it crapped out on me.

A router from this year shouldn't have those problems. but nevertheless maybe it's of some help to you

yes might be, cause i figured out if i dont open ports then everything works fine, but if i open ports then it restartrs, oh man and there i was thinking im finly buying the best router, agrh, gonna play around with number of connections...

Did you put a port in emule i.e. tcp 5000 and udp 5010
and did you do the same in the router.

its a router. Yes i opened all the ports, TCP/UDP i even enbaled some, QoS

Quality of Service (QoS), then i completly opened my computer to the internet, id did everything. and its still restarting... this sucks balls so hard they are all blue. Cause when the router restarts beuse of my emule, the hole network in the house goes down. it does that every minute, aaaaaaaaaaghrgh unless, i close the ports, have a low ID the it works fine... hmmm... yould be some other setting in emule...

Ok finaly figured out what is wrong with the router. Router BEFSR41 Ver4.2, firmware 2.00.1 from linksys, crashes every two minutes if i have TCP and UDP port opened. If i close UDP then it works fine... waiting for new firmware that will solve this problem. Found many people with same problems... might help someone here
