Indeed, CoreAVC rocks! Funny thing is it ain't working properly for some reason with MPC, Haali Media Splitter don't open, but with Windows Media Player it decodes fine, I can even skip through the suckah!

Quick setup instructions if you are using CCCP: http://www.cccp-project.net/wiki/index. ... le=CoreAVC

If you follow the instructions it will work with MPC, Haali Media Splitter, etc.

yep, works fine here! But have you followed the setup steps:

If you are using a separate FFDShow install, you need to go to its video decoder settings, click the Codecs entry in the list to the left, find the H.264 entry in the grid, and change it from "libavcodec" to "disabled".

Yes yes, then it works fine here too, didn't know whether it's supposed to run Halli Splitter I mean, I just had to uncheck MKV inside MPC as an internal filter.

I installed already CoreAVC a moth ago when I downed some HD rip :pork:

something is wrong with your setup then. One of my PCs has exactly the same CPU and I can run ALL 720p rips just with ffdshow (including this one) and many 1080p (only with CoreAVC).

I'm running Win XP on my Athlon XP 3200+ PC, but I don't have any fancy drivers/programs/settings and my video card is old (GeForce FX 5700LE). I think Windows and Linux x264 decoding speed is the same, you should get more speed from your machine.

CCCP's forum has an uptodate MPlayer compiling guide for Windows that includes even patches from the coreavc-for-linux project. Perhaps it can help you for compiling the same under Linux:

As a matter of fact, I've even downloaded you Chinese Ghost Story rips. :D Haven't watched them yet though. I'm still thinking about ripping/releasing avi versions since I have some DVD images lying around as well. ^^

But yeah, I'm using KmPlayer, quick and dirty solution for mkv usage. :)
Still prefer XviD/avi though. ;)
