So I got a WDHDTVLive and a 1.5TB HDD last month. I love it, they're great! Holds lots of shit and plays everything so far. It also supports video playlists, so i been going through old discs and filling it with tv shows and movies. It can shuffle the playlist, so i kinda want to make a "channel" that is a playlist that randomly shuffles episodes, but I been thinking bout making some 'bumps' for each "channel".

For example, I can have a Shitbusters "channel" that just randomly plays crappy movies, and it might be nice to have a bunch of short (30 second or so) stuff in between. Just for fun, since probably only I would enjoy it anyway.

So I'm just asking for thoughts on this, and maybe some help or suggestions with art for a Shitbusters channel.

What i would really want is something that can play things at certain times, even will play it from the middle when i turn it on, just like tv, but i pick the lineup so its better.

I don't know what to say I don't even know how to make playlist on WD TV, I rather chose what I want to watch myself than letting some gizmo chose randomly for me. Browsing through the contents of MyBook is a part of the experience as well

I don't think I get your question You want to make a channel on your WDTV? Or a folder with stuff on it?

He wants to create a repetitive playlist on WD TV and play selected content all day long. So when he's browsing through the channels on his TV, he can "run into" his own channel. Not a bad idea, just not for me

Yeah still trying to figure this out. It wont randomize a video playlist like it does with audio. (yes its just a simple m3u)

made a couple cool 'bumps' though.
