My 6 year old just loves a PC game Ancients of Ooga, it's a nice, colorful platformer with short missions and it's quite easy to play.

But he already played the crap out of it, and now I'm looking for something similar. We tried Super Mario and he liked it, but it gets too hard for him too soon, we tried Abe's Oddysee and Abe's Exodus (I loved playing those when they came out, Abe's Oddysee was the very first game I bought for my PSX back in 1998.), but these are also rather hard [*]. He loves to sit next to me and watch me play them Abe's games, which is also good But I'd like to find him something that he could play on his own...

Any suggestions?

[*] - did you notice that games nowadays are much easier than the ones that we used to play 10 or more years ago? I remember that some of those were downright frustrating In some games, it took me more than a day to beat the final boss, but nowadays, it all seems quite simple, you beat a boss without breaking a sweat.

Now seriously, I'm not up-to-date on games for kids, but consoles have tons of them. A Wii maybe? It was designed to appeal non hardcore gamers.

I would say Jazz Jack rabbit but it's kinda old game and graphics is kinda lame (imho) for now day's kids :/

Jup, imagine those kind of games on fucked up WoW kids. They would torch the house down I only don't know how exactly that teaches them about persistence and that loosing and repeating is a part of life also, but....
And about that boss thing. I still play some new games here and there (as I am still on Icewind Dales, Arcanum, Diablos, Neverwinter Nights, Fallouts...Half Life from FPS), and on the end I restock with every fucking thing just to "walk" to the end of the game. Now, for me, that is disappointing and frustrating (as the picture above shows)

Try plants vs zombies. It's fun, it's easy to play. It also starts slowly and gets harder bit by bit!

We just bought him PS3 for Christmas, Wii will have to wait. Initially, I wanted to buy him a Wii, but my wife insisted on PS3 because it has wider choice of games for her



He is not like other kids, he doesn't care about graphics at all. His favorite Crash Bandicoot is the first one So, Jackrabbit is downloading
