Havent read the Hobbit yet but I did read the three LOTR books, and I found the singing to be not that big of a part of the books. I did skip a few of 'em ;)

I've been wanting to read The Hobbit for quite some time now. But first, I want to read George R. R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series. And they are some heavy duty reading (~900 each!). And that won't happen until I read my current one. So, I'm thinking The Hobbit will have to wait (again) at least until the end of this summer, maybe even fall. :ele:

I also started reading A Song of Ice and Fire series a couple of months ago. Great stuff! :ere:

I think I read The Hobbit 20 years ago. As far as I remember it was a book you can read in one weekend.

Yep, I stared to read The Hobbit. And I must say the first pages are more grabbing than the first pages of LotR. :cheer:

Just finished the last (so far) book of A Song of Ice and Fire. Almost two years of reading. But it's, by far, the best book I have ever read! Can't wait for the next tome. Which presumably will be published by the end of 2014. Rumors, of course. Will see...

Well, I'm moving to some Dan Brown books I bought, earlier in the year. :ele:

SandMan! :)
Ok, it's not a book book, it's a comic book, but man! WHAT a comic book.
Really a beautifull peace of lunatic comic book :)
Highly recomendable.
