Notebooks, I need some help
A friend of mine is looking for a notebook.
Between 500-650 euros
She has her eyes on Acer models. I read a lot of bad things from Acer construction wise and heating problems. They do deliver when it comes to outputs and inputs and being loaded for a low price. Does anyone have experience with Acer notebooks?
What she wants is 3GB of RAM (I'd satisfy with 2GB since she wont be playing games) She wants some fast 2D card for watching HD movies (I talked her into it) She wants an Intel Core 2 Duo CPU She wants to watch Lux getting naked and buttfuck Anos in the Anos
I found a few Acer models that have analog TV out + HDMI out (if she gets one of them HDTVs)
Any of you have a laptop other than Acer? Help me. There will be blowjobs involved for some good advice

Re: Notebooks, I need some help
I have an 5 year old Cybermax laptop, it was really good when it came out, but nowadays.... It's good for scripting/internet surfing/listening music but that's about it. Never had an Acer and also don;t know anyone with one, just check some sites like tweakers or simular and i'm sure you'll get some info on the current models

Re: Notebooks, I need some help
I have one Acer Aspire 5520 (AMD DualCore 1,9 GHz, 2 GB DDRAM, 160 GB HDD, nVidia GeForce 7000 VGA...) in my office. We purchased it recently and I got no complaints so far, especially considering the price of almost 400 EUR that we paid for it At home I use some Gericom Hummer crap. Similar to Pure's crap, it's also 4-5 years old and it was rather good at it's time (even has DVD recorder, which was not so usual at the time). I upgraded the RAM from 256 to 512 , so it's still running more&less smoothly, but I'm considering to purchase a new one - I need a reliable tool for my work and with the prices today I shouldn't even feel it. When it comes to that, I'll take this Acer home over weekend and put it to some abuse to check if it can take it. Then I'll decide between Acer and HP (they also come quite cheap nowadays).

Re: Notebooks, I need some help
Well, today after work I'm gonna buy one of these two babies:
1. Acer TravelMate TM5320-202G32Mi - Linux, P/N: LX.TMX0C.013 15.4" WXGA TFT, Celeron M 550 2.0GHz,2GB DDR II,320GB HDD,DVD+/-RW, Acer Orbicam 0.3MP camera,Bluetooth, W-LAN, bootable Linux
2. HP COMPAQ 6720s - KU233ES + HP bag + HP USB Optical Travel Mouse,Intel Celeron 550 2.0 GHz, 15.4" WXGA, 2GB DDR2, HDD 160 GB SATA, DVD+/-RW DL, VGA Intel Graphics X3100,free dos
So, they both cost close to nothing (around 500 EUR) and they're assembled from practically the same components, so I think that final impression in the shop will be decisive. Yeah, Acer has 320 GB HDD and HP only 160 GB, but both are more than enough for me...

Elsa wrote: DON'T BUY ACER!!! IT IS TOTAL SHIT! Like Lux guessed, too late for that. I bought Aspire 5715, after some minor issues with OS installation (looks like it was designed for Vista ), works like a charm. I have Acer at work, and it seems to work OK. Nah, we'll see. It has a one-year warranty, and if it will give me shit after that period, I'll buy something else edit: forgot to add specs: PC Intel Pentium Dual-Core 1.73GHz, Wireless, 2GB DDR2, 160GB HDD, DL DVDRW, 15.4? WXGA. I drew my line at 2GB DDR, I didn't want to go below that and I think this was the best buy I could get ATM. I paid some 3.800 kn (cca 520 EUR) for it.

Similar price here My friend bought an Anusser 5920 with 3GB of ram, Intel Core 2 Duo 1.83ghz, 160GB HDD, webcam crap, 15.4" and a giant Anus! Around 570 euros. The Acer software that came with it was pretty easy to use for n00bs. Also switching to TV is very nicely done. Only downside is the TV quality. Everything is looking weirdish and flickering. The latter I can fix a bit, but the weird colours, man it's like having mushrooms for breakfast Might be her TV though. Or the cable She's happy with it.
